If you have been injured in an auto accident, your auto insurance such as (MedPay) may cover your Massage Therapy care.
A script/referral is needed when a person with injuries is deemed medically necessary to be treated with massage therapy or "medical massage". A script/referral can only be filled out and approved by your Physician or Chiropractor.
What is Medical Massage or Clinical Massage?
Massage Therapy practice involving more extensive use of assessment, specific focused techniques and applications with the intention of achieving clinical treatment or functional outcomes and remediation of symptoms, also referred to as orthopedic or medical massage.
As of now, most Health Insurances in NM will not pay for Massage but there are other resources that do. Auto Accident (MedPay), Mi Via and some 3rd party waiver insurances, FSA and HSA is accepted with a script/referral filled out and signed by your Physician or Chiropractor (please download and print).

Whiplash, Torticollis, cervical strain, thoracic strain, lumbar strain, R.O.M limitations, Lumbago, Sciatica, pelvic tilt, post-op back surgery, poor posture, muscle spasms, neck & back injuries, tendon damage, myofascial pain, headaches, migraines, secondary muscle group pain (guarding).

$39.00 per unit (15 min.)
Sonya is a Medical Massage Practitioner and accepts MedPay Insurance if you have been injured in an auto accident.
1. Print out this script/referral and take to your treating Physician or Chiropractor.
2. Your treating Physician or Chiropractor will determine whether a treatment for massage is "medically necessary".
3. Call Sonya @505-298-2014 to schedule an appointment for a consultation and/or treatment for medical massage.

FSA or HSA?
Some health insurances will allow you to pay for your medical massage with your Flex Spending Account or Health Savings Account, however you need to double check to make sure they will cover it or you will have to reimburse your account. Your FSA or HSA card is accepted for payment as long as you have a script/referral from your treating Physician.
